The good news is I am getting a tax refund this year, rather than owe. The bad news is my income is down from 2022 as work culture has changed.

The pay is fine, the hours are not. I need to do something, but have a lot of paralysis about it all. Like, I don’t want to leave the company — even if I do think they’ve succumbed to the profits above people mentality. And everyone knows job hunting is the worst thing ever. Especially for someone like me.
I’m also in a lot of debt. Made worse by the above, but also the post-pandemic increases in both interest rates and inflation. So my maneuverability isn’t there either.
Plenty of advice is out there. Some of the worst seems to be the old-hat of piling on student loan debt to go to school to learn a trade to be worth more. Obviously, I have to do something. Getting a second job seems the most inevitable, but also feels like it’d take a hatchet to what little self-worth I have left?
Hence the paralysis.
