My electrician Patrick was here today installing an outlet for my garage door opener and other things. PIRR how much this list of things cost me.

- remove existing garage ceiling fan/light. Replace with new garage ceiling fan in new location. This light obviously is attached to switch on wall.
- install "always on" outlet for garage door opener on garage rafter.
- install new motion sensor light on exterior of garage (old one had died).
- install new front porch light. Needed new box to be to code.
- install new back porch light. Needed new box to be to code.
- install spare GFCI outlet in garage on wall closest to porch (so I can be more nimble with pressure washer, corded trimmer, etc)
- replace attic light switch (it was broken) (needed new box)
Notes: I paid for all lights and fans and the attic switch (I got the light up kind; so fancy!). I also paid for one of the boxes today when I ran to ace to get light bulbs. It was $6. The rest of the materials were included in my tab.
I will tell you that Patrick is not Amish (anyone who has ever used Amish labor knows why I mention this) and that I was genuinely shocked at my tab. I also was not charged the $20 "visit fee" for my first hour because another house in my neighborhood had an emergency call today and I was able to just be tacked on to that from a travel perspective because I was willing to be flexible. .
