Mayor Adams and the NYPD should be embarrassed today to have the governor and National Guard have to come into the city to rescue them.

We give the NYPD $5.4b a year to police the city. That's an extraordinary amount of money and yet they can't figure out how to patrol the subway system. They simply don't do their job and now the National Guard is going to come to their rescue.
I see them on the platforms every now and then but they're always looking at their phones or just bullshitting. They're rarely helpful, often rude and don't ever patrol the cars. I think I've seen one pair of cops on a train in the last year. They don't walk the trains, they don't pay attention to what's going on and just hang out catching the occasional person jumping a turnstile and call it a job well done.
Fuck both Adams and the NYPD.
