serious question - why not just leave the pretty purple flowers? then you don't have to fight your lawn, you can just enjoy that. -- (edited)

lawns do not have to be grass.

grass is actually pretty bad, takes a lot of water, isn't a natural plant, no space for beneficial insects, etc.

if i had a front lawn, it would be all garden with as many native flowers as possible. way less work than mowing etc.
