Last summer I parked at the JFK terminal under construction and had to go to the other side of the airport but the monorail was fine, no trouble.

Traffic to Manhattan wasn't a big deal during mid afternoon on a weekday.
LaGuardia is obviously closer to Manhattan but I don't have experience at that airport itself.
