House prices around here have doubled in the last 10-15 years. It's so crazy to see it. A lot of people do not stand a chance.

My old home cost about 200K and they sold it at auction for about 150K a few years later when we split and filed bankruptcy in 2013. They had denied a short sale for 175K that same year so they got what they deserved.

The new one, very comparable, was about 430K a year ago and by the time they finished the neighborhood, the exact same floor plan was 30K more than I paid. Meanwhile the old house has an estimated value of about 380K. It is insane.
