That was the first movie I saw in a theater on my own. Well sort of. -- (edited)

So in 1979, I was 9 for most of it as I turned 10 in October.

By the time we got to the theater, it was probably like 90% full so there wasn't a set of seats left together large enough for my family so while Mom looked after the set of seats that didn't have seat for me, my Dad found a single seat, like 95% of the way to the front of theater, took a quick review of the rest of row and told me to meet them in the lobby after the movie.

I must have really, really wanted to watch ST:TMP as I apparently thought: well, this is fine. I gotta imagine that I was kind of freaking about it before the movie started out but I don't remember that at all.

I do remember the movie. I remember that Ilia introduced me to the concept that hair isn't necessarily for attractiveness. I also remember that pledge of celibacy was just like blah, blah dialogue.

I really remember that I thought I was super smart or something cause I figured out the 'twist' like 30 seconds early as my 9-10 year old, NASA obsessed self was like Oooh!, Hey! that dish looks like uh, NASA....Voyager! Turned to whisper my superior knowledge to uh, wait, oh, yeah, I'm not sitting with my parents
