No, it's that she gets tinnitus. So, she associates loud noises with future headaches.

Also, while IMAX rarely bothers me, somebody somewhere has decided that the best way to make films seem grander in scale is to make them louder.
I'm so grateful we didn't watch Oppenheimer in a theater.
