The NIT comps all the travel, hotels, and etc....plus giving each team some extra money. Plus, these big schools would be hosting early round games

so they'd make concession money from their fans...
it's sour grapes and whining in about 95% of the cases. If a team is legitimately banged up, say like UConn's women's team where having 8 healthy bodies is a challenge...that's one thing. No one's having that issue now.
