The crux of it is: the behavior of those in the gay pride parade, is that what you are really proud of gay people for?

No, of course it isn't. They are a circus show for the most part. By calling it "gay pride", aren't we basically saying "this behavior is what it means to be gay and I am proud of it"? And if so, then it can't help but be very harmful IMO. It's like Cinco de Mayo or St. Patty's Day at this point: a bastardized version of what it was probably intended to do, co-opted by drunks and revellers who do nothing to celebrate or promote the real underlying heart of it.
