I have not read the books
I took it as a character study of a group of smart friends.
no everyone is going to step up and be a hero
not everyone is nice
people are lost even if they are the smartest people in the room

She grated my last nerve. A total bitch. She was in, she was out, she was back in, no wait - back out again.
even her trying to redeem herself was very flat. we hated her too much. not bad acting, just a bad character.

Saul got on my last nerve, lazy and barely engaged in this whole process ( except for being there for Will and then he just got high all the time).
