Even as a renter (probably) till I die, kind of guy, I get this.

Unless you're leaving the state or dramatically changing where you live in the state, one can't realistically sell cause the money won't allow you to purchase something along the same lifestyle even being downsized.

Responses:

downsizing should work. empty nest boomers with houses could easily get a 2-br condo in the same vicinity for their house's sale price (they just don't -- (edited) - hollywood big shot Mar 27, 13:19 1
