It's impressive that in all your years of military experience operating and commanding troops in a war zone that you were able to act with such

precision that no innocent people were ever injured or killed. Oh wait . . . .

If you're wondering why these kinds of posts (along with the genocide posts) feel so incredibly antisemitic, it's because of the incredibly different standards and attention being paid to this war as opposed to others. All wars have innocent casualties. Especially in close quarters and where the opposition has imbedded itself within a civilian population. I don't recall hearing civilian casualties in Iraq being attributed to a genocide or as intentional or a reckless disregard for life. Drone strikes hitting a wedding party. Maybe moments here and there they were quickly moved on from. I don't think I've seen a single post about the actual genocide in the Congo. Then let's add in Jovian's comment last night attributing genocide to "the Jews" (even if casually and unintentionally being phrased that way).

I hate that this is happening. I mourn these people from WCK. They are heroes and it is a terrible loss. But these things happen in wars all over the world all the time. It sucks. But no other situation is getting the attention and condemnation that this is. Particularly in a situation where Israel was attacked (and not for the first time) by terrorists who are using the Palestians as human shields. There are still hostages being held there and when Hamas turns down a deal for a cease fire nobody bats and eye, but if Israel does it's more condemnation. After 9/11 we started 2 wars half way across the world that killed thousands. This is happening next door to Israel. The distance from Tel Aviv to Gaza is roughly like driving from Chicago to a one of its suburbs. It's a 40 minute drive.

We all agree Netanyahu sucks and needs to go. We all agree this is terrible. But the comments go well beyond that. I may have to take some time off of here or start blocking people. This is no longer the joyous place it has always been for me. I get angry every day I come on here and I don't need it. I've asked repeatedly for some care and thoughtfulness about posting on this issue and there are many who try but a few of you who simply refuse. It's incredibly disappointing.
