Want to withdraw my savings from a Canadian retirement plan. It's going as swimmingly as you'd expect.

For this type of retirement plan, I can only withdraw if I have proof that I am no longer a resident of Canada. There's a form for that. It was a stupid form. I filled out the most basic information, crossed out the rest, and wrote at the bottom "I left in October 2003". Surprisingly, I then received a letter from Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) confirming that I was no longer a resident.

I've been trying to get the bank to move the chess piece to the next step ever since. They keep trying to get me back to the "You have to fill out this form..." step. I assume that's their standard and default response and they figure no one ever does it. Checkmate, bitches! I filled out the form and got a confirmation! But do they know what the next step is?
