Ok ST, I need you to tell me on a scale of 1-10 how bad this is and how fucked I might be. I'm sick to my stomach right now.

So my elementary school is putting on a huge fundraiser event tonight. It's like a carnival. One of the events they are holding is a "cakewalk".
I was telling my coworkers before I left for the day (I have other plans tonight, so while they are all there, I'm not) that I *HATE* the name cakewalk. Cakewalks are steeped in racism. (or so I've been told) I know that's not what is meant now, but...history and shit.
Well, one of my coworkers just went around and is announcing to everyone that cakewalks are racist. The principal iS PISSED. Everyone is pissed. This is a children's event and she's running her mouth (even if it's true, probably not the time and place for it.)
The principal will more than likely be ripping her a new one on Monday, but I'm wondering if (or how much) fault lies with me for telling her in the first place. It's not like I told her to yap to everyone! But it is a kid's event so...
