A.G. did the same thing to the Oregonian while he was here in Portland.


Came in during the whole Williamsburg Hipster migration of 2004-2006 and -- quite literally -- started telling people that Portland needed more of a "New York Establishment."

In 2008, he got pissed off at my former boss (the Senator) for exactly the same thing -- the campaign wouldn't adhere to the editorial board's interview schedule. Which, allegedly, by rumor, was the reason the Oregonian's endorsement went the other way.

Dunno if that is true. But I remember plenty of stories that the communications folks told about the editorial shifts during A.G.'s three years here -- before he begged his daddy for a job back home.
