no that's basically where i am with a producer i hired to mix/master four demos. mostly it's been fine (all the instrumentation is me, he just tracked

everything in the studio and has been doing the final mixing at his home) there's just like one thing on one track i have been very particular about. i hate having to be the asshole, but also he's kind of the expert on the production aspects so maybe i'm asking for something that isn't really doable . . .
except i've heard it done on countless tracks so i'm pretty sure there's a way. but at this point the whole process has also confirmed for me that i'm just going to have to learn all this stuff myself and do the recording/mixing at home myself if i want stuff to sound the way i want it to sound. lesson learned!
