like the CHIPS Act, the domestic sources and manufacturing rules for EV credits should be a huge competitive advantage for domestic automakers. but Detroit also spent a whole decade after the first oil shock whining and crying their way to losing half their market share to Japan so i probably shouldn't be surprised
