Anything with sketchy salary is a non-starter imo.

I had a buddy who worked at a used car lot. After about three weeks, he asked why he hadn't gotten paid yet.
That was the moment owner decided to tell him that it was a commission job, and salary didn't start until after someone had sold X amount of cars. He basically worked 200 hours for free and wouldn't go to a lawyer about it. Not coincidentally, I nod my head vigorously at many anti-work posts.
Some people are just scammy and scummy.
