The concept of self-checkout, one of the largest risks to cashier positions, has largely reached its peak. Customers aren't keen on it. Theft is out of control.
Curbside. Wildly pushed and pretty useful during the pandemic? Still completely unprofitable. While it retains its core set of users, expanding the customer base has proven to be impossible.
Even Amazon's attempts at it with their grocery delivery services have required several pull backs and reiterations to arrive effectively at the same end result: It's not profitable.
