I am writing to express my interest in an opportunity you may have for someone with demonstrated expertise.

Demonstrated expertise is not quite right. Demonstrated seems odd next to expertise

Take out “ connecting” and just say discussing. It’s too clunky together

It’s a good cover letter. Short. To the point
