You limit them to 100 pitches because that’s about 2x - 2.5x through the lineup which is when the numbers say hitters start to feast.
So they max out those 100 pitches to the limits of human kinesiology and they break down because max-effort hurts.
But you’re not going to let them go more than 100 pitches or 22-24 hitters…so why go half-assed for some of that if it’s less-effective?
The reality is the past is gone.
