coincidentally, I recently had a moment when watching a bay area pbs show that features restaurants. three people and the host all go to a restaurant each of the three chooses, then they get together to be filmed discussing their experiences.
on the ep., diners went to a place in oakland that uses indigenous ingredients, etc. the food looked amazing; but, on top of that, it hit me just how wrong/bad it is that there this is the first restaurant in the greater area that I’ve heard of solely featuring it. I think there are some that have some dishes, usually mixed in with mexican or the like; but just one full-on is shameful in an area that has a kajillion restaurants representing many/varied ethnicities. we need to do better, plus tasty!
