numerous takeout joints nearby work either never came back or have shuttered since the pandemic b/c the office occupancy rates just aren't there

Yeah, I eat in a restaurant much less than I used to. i just made a reservation for Thursday to have dinner with a friend & there was a $50 -- (edited)

We have that for a few of the high end places here. One event makes you pre-pay in full in advance (it's got a tasting menu). -- nm

It's a big problem for us as well. Without the office workers going to lunch a lot of places didn't survive and more are barely
