Yeah, I eat in a restaurant much less than I used to. i just made a reservation for Thursday to have dinner with a friend & there was a $50 -- (edited)

deposit with the reservation.
If we don't show or cancel with less than 24 hours notice, the deposit is lost.
that's new to me.
