oo, sunscreen talk! (I’ve tried oodles*.) there are reasons for year-round, daily application including for desk jobbers.

exposure commuting, through windows, blue light from electronics, and more; and damage can be cumulative. every bit of protection can help.

*extra pale life-long californian who had bad sunburns before 12 (big risk factor), and had a spot of basal cell cancer some years ago.

I can’t use anything on my face that contains silicones, so that rules out a lot of products; but I’ve still tried tons. latest most-used/general daily use are Tula’s protect & glow for face, Hawaiian Tropic sheer touch for body, Supergoop stick for additional coverage on backs of hands when driving. application becomes a habit like putting on deodorant (*meaningful look* ;p).

years ago, side by side photos of truckers’ arms and driving side of face vs. opposite stuck with me; plus we had a neighbor when I was growing up who looked so much older than she was because of not protecting.

the anti-sunscreen trend has been maddening. celebs like maria menounos and kristen cavallari, millions of followers, having “doctors” spouting pseudoscience b.s., ignoring environmental changes, etc., makes me feel sick. ugh.

tl;dr: please use sunscreen regularly. it’s covered using FSA $ (usually spf 15 and above, but using 30 and above is best), and various brands and sites have frequent sales; so many can get direct or indirect discounts, too.
