I agree about the side stories taking away from the main one. I don't really care about the Mondriches becoming part of the ton, and bi Benedict's story didn't really add much to me. FFS he got more skin time on screen than Polin.
Did you read the books? In the Polin book, Colin is the one who discovers she's LW, the carriage is a rockin' after he finds out, then he proposes. Eloise doesn't know the secret and she's not even there when the LW reveal takes place at a ball (with Colin and the rest of the fam being the ones to announce).
I loved the character development with Pen and the rest of her family. I never thought I'd like Mrs. F. but here we are.
Other random thoughts:
Benedict is hilarious and I love the scenes with all the brothers (A and B being super shocked after the engagement announcement)
Anthony screaming out answers at the charades game was the best and totally in character with his competitive streak
Nicola Coughlin is a queen, I love her so much. Her PR for this season has been the best.
I didn't dislike this season but I wanted to like it so much more. I wanted more romance and less anger and angst.
