They are already pivoting back away from self-checkout due to how much they’re losing in theft, intentional or otherwise.

Electronic price tags would help when it came to doing price-changes overall, so that’s your real labor mention. Though from what I’ve seen, price-changes aren’t getting done in a timely manner anyway, so… maybe this is just to help stem the bleeding from having to honor pricing and there isn’t as much to do with labor.
