Also, I've been hearing Breyer on the radio more recently, frustratingly forming some opinions but dodging 'how should they vote' questions

on the claim that it's not appropriate for a former justice to say something because it could influence the current justices. Dude,
- If the justices are going to be swayed by a former justice's comments, they they either aren't good at their jobs or they're just human and they're already being sway by anyone else's opinions floating around in the press and elsewhere.
- A retired justice is in the optimal position to give the public insight on how justices think while being free of any sense of consequence for siding one way or the other. A retired justice *should* be answering all these 'how would you' questions. You're already on death's door anyway, what good is holding on to those thoughts when every other citizen is voicing them?
