Your reaction reminds me of my way younger self checking out a library book that was essentially a graphic novel before there was such a thing.

A hardcopy of a bunch of Kirby era Marvel books.
The origins of the FF4, Thor, and the Hulk are the ones I remember. The cane/walking stick to hammer is something that I'll always remember.
The first comic books that I can remember reading 'first run' were probably mid to late 70's before that book so the preceding era artwork was uh, a bit jarring.
Ok, maybe cause I didn't have video games and there was like 3 networks and cause I was kind of stuck with the book until the next library visit, I ended up reading all of those early books that were in that book. More than kind of liked it.
Look, you be you, but just cause things are old, or in the case of X-Men 97 look old (the storylines while taken from the comics, definitely have never been seen in not print versions) doesn't mean that they're awful.
.......though I guess I skip a bunch of music completely unheard or if I do take a listen then skipping after like 20 seconds so hey, do I say, not as I do? ;-)
