I was very skeptical of the cat because, well, my cat is super vocal and of course they hiss, etc. so yeah, there's no way that cat survives 1 minute
BUT
The cat is basically a service cat and you pretty easily suspend the disbelief that it can't control it's sounds and it demonstrates a lot of intelligence pretty early on which makes it actually a pretty cool part of the story. The whole plot of this movie is great and very different than the others. Won't spoil it more but it actually ends up working really well.
