I said this last night and I'm more convinced of it today after seeing a much better Biden. Biden's mistake was trying to debate Trump on the terms

that everyone expects when dealing with Trump. He should have come out with his opening statement and said "I know this is supposed to be a debate, but that's not what I'm here for. I'm here to talk about the issues you care about, what we've accomplished and how we plan to keep building on our gains. Debating Donald Trump is a fool's errand. He's a convicted felon who spews so many lies, baseless attacks and nonsense that it's impossible to respond to it all. It's just a deluge of lies. I leave it to you and the news people to check his facts and see if anything he says resembles a plan of concrete action instead of just 'everything is terrible now' and he can fix it without an explanation of how. So I'm going to answer the questions for you and try to give you real information. Can't swear that I won't lose my cool and respond to his rants, but I'm going to try."
And then stick to the questions. You can correct him while answering the questions to the extent necessary, but just ignore him and don't take the bait.
