The opening to ESO is needlessly complicated, mind you. Following the tutorial and starter area, I highly recommend continuing on the main questline.

This involves a hooded figure that should approach.

The only other real big important thing to note is you'll run out of inventory space right away. You'll need to be mindful of picking up reagents, ingredients, all of that nonsense until much later when you have space and actual need for it.

First 50 levels is all about just setting out your skills, stats, and trading up gear.
