it was easier to hide the fact that Carmy is a one-note character when all the chaos and plot of s1/2 was going off all around him. but now that there aren't a million crises a minute to deal with, harder to ignore
also . . . Mad Men did the whole Don & Peggy thing 10 years ago my guy, but better
