In response to "No can do. It’s my patriotic duty to man my station of commerce. -- nm" by Qale

I remember the big bbq holidays when I was 17 working as a bagger at Supreme Market on La Brea (now it's a drug store)

Always the busiest days of the year. Manager would hand us out cans of coke right there on the floor to keep us going because the work would be nonstop. That coke was so good. We used to sell chicken parts by the 10 lb tray made out of cardboard with a ton of ice packed in each one. They came from the meat dept wrapped in black garbage bags so they wouldn't leak in the customer's vehicle. We sold those all year round but on the bbq holidays customers would buys them by the stack. We also sold a lot of frozen chitterlings by the bucketful. That's when I learned what "chitlins" were. Sigh, so many pretty cashiers. :)
