In response to "Has anyone ever used Viking cruises? Looking at their Alaskan cruise and just curious how it might compare to other cruise lines. -- nm" by sycor

My parents have been Vikings in europe way, I have not yet -- (edited)

more expensive then most cruises I believe. but also way more included benefits. excursions are included typically, and better service, I think better flight/travel inclusions as well (like included in the price is travel). They still talk about how great those river cruises were with Viking. Also I think Viking is one of the few Cruise lines that can still go into the Glacer bay in Alaksa (them and Norwegian I think).

And also I believe they dont charge you a gratuity after the fact (Royal Caribbean did, Norweigan didnt (ok, they did, but they told you the value up front and let you adjust it at the end if you wanted to "tip more").
