Starting with the shootout at the nightclub and culminating in a literal Die Hard remake. Before that, it's an A+ movie. But I feel Mann paints himself into a corner and in the end has trouble emerging. Surprisingly, the finale in the subway works very well and bookends the movie deftly (if also very obviously).
