Will this be the next 'end of the world scare'? 2027 is the end of the next 52 year period of the Aztec calendar. -- (edited)

This is from my newsletter summary of a presentation earlier this year and I was reminded by an online video I'm watching.
"Continued studies of the iconography led Dr. Mendoza to connect many symbols relating to the commemoration of the New Fire ceremony of 1507 with those on the sun stone which had previously been considered a depiction of the Aztec calendar. The New Fire ceremony was performed at the end of each 52-year period in the belief that the world must be renewed or it would end. All personal goods were discarded and all fires extinguished. The priests led by the Turquoise Lord gathered at the temple and sacrificed a captive by cutting out his heart and lighting a fire in his chest. Runners lit torches from this fire and took them first to light the temple fires and then across the land to light household fires. If done successfully time would continue for another 52 years."
