Centerpoint essentially decided they didn’t want to spend the resources on the possibility Beryl might hit their area of coverage.

So they just… didn’t.
They don’t have an accurate outage map because the previous one was overloaded a month ago during the derecho. It costs money. And it also shows transparency. They definitely don’t want that.
They claimed they got power back to 1 million, but they changed the way they were counting the numbers to include those regained power immediately.
They have folks coming in from other areas now, but they started at least 36 hours behind.
