While these are lower profile, I think very few recent VP nominee picks would have had more than 10% name recognition at the start of the campaign.

2020 - Harris
2016 - Pence and... Kaine?
2012 - Ryan
2008 - Biden and Palin
2004 - Edwards
2000 - Cheney and Lieberman

Even though they were all governors or senators (in some case with long tenure), I'd be surprised if 1 in 10 American voters could identify them by name/face two weeks before the convention.
