Politically, it makes no damn sense. Yes, Ohio is a swing state (even more this time around), but Vance has little support beyond the hard-core Trump supporters. I don't the he will carry the state like the conventional wisdom of politics says.

But then again, politics hasn't made any damn sense for ten years. So, whatever.

The pick makes perfect sense though from Trump's own perspective.
