If never used, I would almost be tempted to just leave it dead in place. Supposed to dump water in there every 4-6 months to confirm operable status.

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about the systems and your situation.

Mine has never activated and I am at virtually the most upstream line of our area storm sewer system.
So, I don't even think about it.
Very slim chance we would ever get flooded.
