I've always been baffled at why anyone would want to self-checkout a full cart of groceries.

I'm not sure why people do huge cartloads, honestly. Control, overconfidence, not wanting interaction... I dunno. -- nm

I do my weekly shopping on Friday - quadruple fuel points day. I have a list based on my food plan for the week. Also anything on deep discount. -- nm

I can get through the line in half the time. I don’t have to wait behind slow people or those who want to give cashiers a hard time.

You'd have loved coming through my line at the old job. At the new job, I deliberately am having to pace myself slower. The work is harder.

At my store in particular there are 4 that are card only always. They are meant for Walmart+ and Spark Delivery Drivers. My customers use cash A LOT.

I love self checkout. I've never bought more than like six things at a time from the grocery store though.

Yeah I go every day at least once. It's like five blocks. How else do you guarantee a good avocado?

I still haven't been trained on monitoring self check out. All I know how to do is turn a lane on, print an employee barcode to make sign in faster, -- (edited)
