ALL of the biggest UK rock bands had birthdates AFTER conscription, it's not a mistake. THey were ALL born in the 40s.

They were born to absent fathers. Killed in the war, traumatized by the war, or denied entry to the armed forces (which carried social repercussions).
They were not conscripted, and they had to figure out how to be men. That's the basic conflict in UK classic rock.
