Insurance Pro-Tip -be sure to notify your agent and if needed, get your home policy updated for the added reconstruction cost for any improvements.

Many homes have replacement cost settlement on the dwelling that requires you notify of any changes so that they adjust the limit in order to have replacement cost settlement apply.
(this is important in disaster cases where many homes get taken out and through no fault of your own - your damaged home costs WAY more than your policy limit because materials get gouged and go up for lack of availability)
in a nutshell ... just call your agent. (smile)
