As I think about it, this board has kinda proven the problem that Southwest has may be one of perception.

It seems that people may expect the open seating concept to cause chaos and they avoid the airline because of it. Then when SW conducts a survey of why people fly other airlines, 80 percent say it's because of the assigned seats.
