Anti-Musk post: My 17 year old son told my wife and I that he has gender fluidity.

That he's (I say he because he doesn't want to change pronouns yet) not comfortable with some of his physical masculine features.

Although, it was a surprise to us, we were also very supportive. It was obvious that he's thought about this for a long time, and worked up the courage to tell us. My wife showed him how to shave his arms and legs, and we got him some shaving gear.

He's had friends over to help him braid his hair, paint his nails and dabble in make-up. No matter where this is going I'll always be supportive of him.

That said, our society is terrible and dangerous to trans people. So, the worry for me about his long term safety has increased 10 fold. I've told him about those fears I have while also making sure he knows that I'll always love and help him.

I don't where this is going long term, but I hope he gets to be happy in college and beyond that.
