I've been trying to stop eating processed food so I haven't bought any cold cuts in a few weeks, thankfully.
Responses:
Same, but it appears limited to liverwurst and some products from that same liverwurst factory. -- nm

They don't say what was made in the factory along with it but ham was mentioned. -- nm

The other ready-to-eat deli meat products were produced on June 27, 2024. The following deli meat products are subject to recall:

It's chunks of lesser quality meat all bound together. Emulsifiers, nitrates, sodium, flavourings. -- nm

FTR, that's not the type of product to which Krusty is referring, nor is it part of the recall yet. -- nm

It's not raw meat though. Ham is brined and cooked = processed -- nm

Generally my processed definition is centered around "are there a lot of extra things I can't pronounce in the ingredients list" -- nm

There's your problem, you're using an incorrect definition!

And some cold cuts would be processed more than others - eg baloney is a lot more processed than ham. -- nm

Kudos for staying vigilant. FWIW, this notice is still limited to meats sliced at the deli. Pre-sliced still not affected AFAICT. -- nm

Pre-sliced cold cuts are not allowed in this household. All cold cuts are sliced thin from the deli counter. :-) -- nm

Dude, before the pandemic I linked a story on how delis are going out of business locally. Thankfully, I still have a few indie ones near Del Amo

Yeah, plus delis themselves help make for a great local community, standing around chit-chatting waiting for your slices or just grab a coffee. -- nm

I'm friendly with my deli guy. Even when I don't get cold cuts I stop over and say hi. He just got back from visiting family in the DR so I checked in
