Some notes on how I would change field hockey.

The skirts the women wear are stupid. They wear bicycle shorts underneath. Enough with the “traditional” uniforms. They should wear the uniforms that are most effective for the sport. I can see maybe if the skirts were about modesty, I suppose.

They need longer sticks. Running around doubled over like that seems an invitation for back pain.

They need an offside rule. I saw one goal where a player lobbed the ball across the field to another player just lingering around the goal, who promptly smashed it in. That’s what offside is supposed to prevent.

More padding. I cringe at the thought of getting nailed by one of those balls (which I saw happen today).

Playing on skates would be pretty bitchin’.
