You fall constantly in skateboarding. It's very difficult to land tricks, even the less difficult ones. It's why they reward people that stay on

That's my point. What makes it boring is the failed tricks. That's why there's practice. Would you want multiple falls in figure skating?

Hell yeah! It's really difficult to do at a high level, requires lots of skill and agility. Most people can't stand and push forward.

That would be awesome. I'm not sure it's a thing people do as maintaining speed on a skateboard is much more difficult than a bike.

Races might be too chaotic but a time trial format could work. Mix up the course with some downhill, some flat sections, and some obstacles. -- nm
